Hello,

I am very interested in m23 as I am using it to create prototypes of linux software on Kubuntu macines. I have successfully installed virtual box version 4.1.32 and m23.

On the virtual box machine, I am having difficulty with the settings for the network. I am using tethering on an android phone and I think the problem I am having is with the DHCP. My network set up is as follows :

On Adaptor 1, enable network adaptor

Attached to: Bridged Adaptor
Name: wlan0

Can you please let me know what the best settings are to allow me to add a new client?

Many thanks

Ro

Hi Ro,

I have no idea about your setting with android Wink

But for network booting the m23 server and the m23 clients must be bridged on the same network device on the host machine under VirtualBox.

Thanks for your reply Hauke. In this case can you guide me on how to set up a proxy DHCP?

Many thanks,

Ro

Hi Ro,

the m23 server contains a DHCP server that is used for network booting (PXE) of the m23 clients. The easiest way to to install clients via m23 is by deactivating any other DHCP server.

If you cannot deactivate it, there are some hints in the manual (http://m23.sourceforge.net/docs/manual/html/en/manual.html) in the chapter "Using m23 with an external DHCP server".
