Hi,
Adding pre-installed (as installed before using m23) hosts as m23 clients is an interesting feature I want to see in this projet.
What do you think ?
Regards,

This is a feature was requested a few times before. It is simple from the idea and complicated in the detail.
To make importing of a client into m23 perfect, there have to be done a lot of things.
Installing the necessary programms on all clients to import. Entering the server information on each of the clients and start the client import.
Scanning and transferring the following information to the server:
- hardware and partitioning (simple)
- installed packages (simple)
The complicated part is to interpret (and sometimes guess) the correct settings for a lot of software stored in several files under /etc.
And I guess, there will be some other complications, that I can't imagine yet.
This feature will be added sometime. _________________ Hauke Goos-Habermann
