Hello,
we have set up an m23 Server on the following hardware configuration:
Asus EeeBox B202 with 2GB RAM, running SuSE 11.1 with Virtual Box OSE 2.2.0 (having 1 GB RAM for m23), m23 installed and run as virtual machine.
We have the following client setup problem:
after adding the client, the client is automatically booting the hardware detection PXE image, with the client setup ("Einrichten"), we can generate a partitioning configuration. When we select the OS to be installed, we select
"etch" from the list (and any Window Manager - we tested several).
When we confirm the installation the m23 server crashes with a segmentation fault (tries to access an Adress 78xxxxxx, which seems to
be a protected memory area).
This segmentation fault is independent from the client - I can "generate" it
by testing the "etch" setting in the packet sources area of the server.
Going more in detail, I have found out, that the directory
http://m23.sourceforge.net/m23debs/ is not existing.
My assumption is, that probably a non-existing directory reference is causing this segmentation fault.
Are there some suggestions, how to proceed further?
Thanks in advance,
Thomas |

In my tests I never encountered a segfault. Maybe the problem is the 2.2 release of VirtualBox. For my tests I use 2.1.4 OSE. Please try to downgrade VB and report if the segfault still exists.
By the way: Lenny is the current Debian release. Etch is still supported, but the software releases are approx. two years older than in Lenny.

The directory is existing but the listing of its contents is denied. This seems to be a new setup of the SF webservers
But APT has no problems with using the package source, because it "knows" the files to look for (e.g.
http://m23.sourceforge.net/m23debs/Packages). I've just checked and it works _________________ Hauke Goos-Habermann
