READ ONLY FORUM: m23 :: makes software distribution easy

I would like to install an OS manually once, import it into m23 server, then have it install automatically onto other clients. I've read the documentation, looked at the forums, and read a bit of the PHP, but I do not see if this is possible.

I want to be able to do this for CentOS, Debian, and SuSE systems.

Hi,

you can use the imaging function of m23, but in most cases imaging makes more problems than you get in reward for it.

If you want to install different operating systems but are not interested in the management of the clients afterwards, a cloning software like clonezilla (clonezilla.org) maybe what you need.

Installed/cloned Debian-based systems can be imported into m23 afterwards for further management. For the other distributions this function doesn't exist currently.

Maybe you would like to sponsor the development or can help developing it, if you have good knowledge of SuSE and CentOS?

And thanks for the hints - you are right, this feature is not really well documented (not least because of its restrictions). I will take care of updating the documentation about imaging.
