|

Hi,
First there is a little typographic error in the manual when talking about integrating clients.
=> The $\langle$ and $\rangle$ should be replaced by <and> . )
I'm trying to integrate an existing client using ubuntu-dapper.
But when i give the information in the "integration form" nothing happends.
If i do the "manual" integration using the "wget" command, the work.php file created is empty.
I started "debbuging" it a bit, and it seems that it can't get the distribution's name ...
So i hard puted "ubuntu", but it seems that the others values are also empty...
Perhaps i missed something...
Any idea? |

Finally i "assimilated" a debian client and then a ubuntu one.
This time the jobs where added.
But the jobs are still in "waiting" status, pressing the "start jobs" doesnt have any effects... |

It seems that when i set the correct hostname for the client name the jobs desapears...
Perhaps because the hiostnames contains "illegals" characters (like "-") |

I've never tested the assimilation with Ubuntu systems. I think one of the problems is that there is no activated root account in the default installation. m23 tries to make a SSH connection as root and this must fail on Ubuntu. The distribution detection algorithm seems to need an adjustment for Ubuntu too
I'll put Ubuntu assimilisation on my todo list. _________________ Hauke Goos-Habermann

I've installed Kubuntu 6.06 LTS from DVD on my test system and saw that there is no running SSH daemon in the default installation. This makes an automatic assimilisation impossible.
I'm assuming you have to install (manually) the SSH daemon first.
What did you make to integrate the client? _________________ Hauke Goos-Habermann
