It is assumed that the defined hard disk parameters aren't valid for all your clients. m23 offers different methods for individual partitioning adjustment of your clients.
- The ”Disk selection criteria” defines the algorithm for choosing the hard disk of the client if there should be more than one.
- ”As specified” uses the hard disk selected above, even if there should be a hard disk whose size matches the specified size better. If the defined hard disk shouldn't exist (e.g. there is no /dev/hda in a SCSI system) another hard disk is chosen. If this option is not activated the best hard disk will be selected according to the following criteria.
- The tolerances for ”Identical type” and ”Other types” define the upper tolerance (client hard disk is bigger than defined) and the lower tolerance (client hard disk is smaller) from the defined size. Hard disks within the tolerance are detected as a match. If you prefer hard disks of the same type (e.g. IDE) choose a smaller or no (set upper and lower tolerance to 0) tolerance for hard disks of ”Other types”.
